What is an ENS declaration
The ENS (Entry Summary Declaration) is filed in the ICS2 system before goods arrive in the EU, so customs can assess risk in advance. It is mandatory for all transport modes — since 2025 also for road and rail.
ENS and EXS are safety and security summary declarations. Without them goods cannot enter or leave the EU. We file them on time so your cargo is not stopped at the border.

Containerised sea freight — 24 hours before loading at the non-EU port; bulk sea cargo — 4 hours before arrival; short-sea routes (e.g. from Turkey) — 2 hours before arrival; road — 1 hour before arrival; rail — 2 hours; air — before loading.
The EXS (Exit Summary Declaration) is required when goods leave the EU without an export declaration — for example re-export or goods from temporary storage. When an export declaration exists, it already contains the safety data.
We file ENS for carriers or as their representative, including carriers from Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia. We monitor ICS2 status and respond to customs referrals immediately.
You send us the invoice, CMR/bill of lading and goods details.
We check the documents, tariff code and applicable procedure.
We lodge the declaration electronically and represent you before customs.
You receive release of the goods and a complete set of documents.
Normally the carrier, but a customs representative can file it on the carrier's behalf.
The goods may be refused unloading or held, and the carrier may be fined.
Within one hour of receiving the cargo data, including urgent trucks.
